What is Sound Edit
16?
Sound Edit 16 is a software used to manipulate sound
files, such as songs from a CD or tape. It is also used to convert these files
into a data that the computer can read and store onto the hard drive, as well as
for converting different sound files from one type of format to another (i.e.
Sound Edit 16 file to a WAVE file).
What is Sound
Edit 16 useful for?
This software is ideal for editing various
audio files, such as songs, recorded speech, or background noises. You can do
this in several ways, for example, adding noise or inserting silence into a
period of your track; applying a number of effects into your track; modulating
the frequency and amplitude of your track; and many others.
How to open up Sound Edit 16
There might
be different locations for Sound Edit 16, depending on the computer station that
you are using. Generally however, you would follow this procedure:
- Open up the hard drive of your computer.
- Select the "Class App." folder and open it up.
- Somewhere near the bottom of the page should be the Sound Edit
16/Deck II folder. Double click on it and open it up.
- This should come up on your screen:

- Click on the SoundEdit 16 version 2 icon, located at the
top left-hand corner.
- After the introductory title screen, you should get something looking like
this:
This is the default setting of a new file for Sound Edit 16. In the
middle of the page you should see white blank space, with a flashing cursor.
This is where your track will appear after it is loaded into the computer.
